A note about yesterday’s lesson of Humility: Because I was so resistant to it, perhaps it is the thing I need to work on the most!
On to Today: Acceptance
Today, as I was taking a walk, I felt somehow different, like this Consciousness Cleanse is working. I felt magical, and empty, but in an amazing way–like a ship’s hull, strong, yet waiting to be filled with all the Divine Goodness. Like a good foundation has been laid.
On this day, Debbie Ford uses the Serenity Prayer as her base. I think it’s an excellent use of the prayer and allows you to concentrate on each part individually.
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.”
[or, "the wisdom to hide the bodies of all the people who pissed me off", in a more comical version]
In fact, doing this cleanse today gave me a whole new appreciation for that prayer, made me see it in a whole new light.
This again, felt like an “easy” day for me, but I have the hindsight of already having to go through a four month “Accepting Ritual.” In 2006, I spent four months in Ghana, West Africa with no particular agenda. This meant I had LOTS of time on my hands, and that I had the unique opportunity to think about everything I have EVER wanted to think about EVER IN LIFE! EVER!!
No, really. Anything I could possibly ponder, I pondered. It also allowed me the time and space to utilize a whole lot of forgiveness, both for myself and for others whom I felt had “wronged” me.
I have a new appreciation for this cleansing trip more and more, and especially after a lesson like today’s.
But instead of blowing off the lesson as an “already completed”, I did it full-out anyway. I know me and I know once I start “cutting class” so to speak, I’m not going to come back. This attitude served me well in school too: “If I’m going to show up, I am going to participate; and if I am going to sleep through your class, I would much rather do it in the comfort of my warm bed.”
So I am proud of myself for not dismissing this lesson today and “showing up for class”, as it were.
I am a Divine Vessel who has the wisdom to allow Acceptance to fill me up.
