21 Day Consciousness Cleanse, Day 14!

Okay, I have completed 2 weeks out of three, 14 days out of 21!  Whew!

It is challenging to keep this up, but I am committed to doing it and completing it.

I started this Cleanse sort of abruptly, and let my People, including my family know the day I started, rather than giving them huge warning.  The truth is, earlier in the week, I had experienced a straw that broke the camel’s back of sorts and sort of pushed into it from there.  My sister said I was going into Isolation on a soul searching mission.  I denied it at the time, but fittingly, I have changed  my verdict to Agreeing with her, I am on a soul searching mission.

But guess what!?  I think I am finding it.

Today, we “talked” about TRUTH.  (I use “talk” loosely, what I really mean is I talked to myself ;-)   )

Now, I think I am a pretty honest person.  And in fact so do other people.  The two rules when talking to me are:

1. In general, I mean what I say and say what I mean, therefore

2. Do not ask me a question to which you do not want an answer

But today still threw me for a loop!  It is the end of the “Present”, but it was a whopper! (packed into one tiny little exercise)

Today, the Cleanse asked me to–being completely HONEST–to list out all the places where I am presently lying to myself.  My list was about one full side of a page–that’s a lot for someone who considers herself to be “Honest.”  Then it asks me to list new agreements with myself (after listing the old ones that kept me in the holding pattern of LIES) that I am prepared to take from this point forward.  Finally, I choose which set of agreements I want and has me rip up the other list.  I was literally ripping up one piece of paper for a solid 25 minutes! (Seriously, 25 minutes!)

I had to laugh at myself.  If given a set of instructions, I tend to follow them to the letter (unless it’s not working, then I will go back and re-read them seventeen times to see if there is something I missed).  I can hear my first grade teacher now, telling my mom, “Charlene is very bright, but she’s slow–meticulous–it takes her forever to do anything.  My mother just nodded and smiled.  She Knew!

So today was a whopper for me!  And it didn’t feel like it was about TRUTH at all.  And after ripping paper for an hour, I feel much lighter, airier, ready to take on the world.

This activity uncovered for me feelings of “unworthiness”, of “not being deserving.”  Well, uncovered is not quite accurate: Uncovered again hits the mark a little better.  I have uncovered this before, but keep sweeping it under the rug.  So now, admitting it to you, makes it so it is not under the rug any longer!

Debbie Ford said a few things that really caught my attention, particularly:

It takes months, often years, to stabilize new levels of consciousness and to seal the doors to the past so firmly that these old thought patterns can’t come marching in whenever they like.  Often they show up when you are busy, moving a bit too fast, and have your defenses down.  Or they appear when you are feeling stressed because you took back the reins of your life.  The old will try to reenter and be adopted by the self that you are today.  Don’t be tricked into believing that, once you have a day when you feel more alive and connected to your soul and to God’s brilliance, you’re free forever.  Consciousness cannot be bought and paid for.  It cannot be caged.  It is an infinite pool that is vast and ever-changing, one that asks you to commit to living within a daily practice of truth.  So in order to let the radiant light of your soul shine onto your daily existence, truth insists that you take a fiercely honest daily inventory of your life.

Wow, that was Powerful for me!  And so true!  I read that passage at least three times.  Go figure, change doesn’t have to occur in one fell swoop!

She also said that when she did her own inventory, she found that she “was spending too much time looking at what wasn’t working and not enough time blessing what was working perfectly.”  Isn’t that true for all of us?

So today, I took a look at what IS working in my Life!

“The Depth of your Truth will dictate where you can go.”

I Am Worthy and Deserving and I focus on the LIGHT!
