Juxtaposition

Sometimes our dreams are interconnected, weaving like a tapestry in, out, around and through other people’s lives. We are all interconnected, no matter how minute or remote the connection may seem to be.

Each time we meet a person, especially if we have connected with them at several different points in our lives, we have messages to share with one another.

Juxtaposition. This is a literary term that describes when two seemingly unrelated scenes are purposefully placed next to one another, one usually makes the other stronger or more ironic.

Life is like that too. We never know when what we learned or felt or went through all those years ago will come back into our minds at a crucial next scene.

When I was in tenth grade, there was a girl I almost fought. If I recall correctly, it was over the fact that she put my bookbag on the floor, or some other silly such nonsense. Yet in our adult lives, we have reconnected over our spiritual journeys. Recently the door was opened again and we had a great conversation. And she has spurred me on to keep going with this part of my own Journey.

Ironically, a few years back, she helped my best friend through her own spiritual transition, and at a time when my best friend and I were going through a rift.

Divine Light shows up in the most peculiar ways.

Yet it does show up.

Every day and in every moment, in fact.

Juxtaposition.

Weaving the tapestry of our lives.

I am woven. I am weaving.

I am student. I am teacher.

Another ironic lesson learned through dark and murky waters from a man who taught me so much about myself and my own strength. And when he said that to me, I got so upset because at the time, I was uncomfortable being a simultaneous teacher and student and having him show me myself was more than I could handle.

I thank him now. Here. Many moons and life cycles later.

How time does shift.

That Darkness placed next to my own Inner Light—for what am I illuminating if not myself and the world around me.

Friendship is like that too.

If you are in a space of growth, others around you grow too and shine all the more brightly when you are together.

Juxtaposition.

In 2007, I broke my wrist. It was so completely shattered that now I have a metal plate in there to help hold everything together. I fell while helping my sister out with her dance class. It was possibly the lightest and slowest fall ever. And I’m not convinced that I even fell on my hand at all. And it’s on the inside of my wrist.

But how do you tell your medical doctor highly trained in orthopedics, that you think it was supernatural and that my wrist was broken before I hit the ground because the pieces just don’t add up to me.

Yet that single event marked a dramatic turning point in my life that has carried me forward ever since.

The yin to the yang, the period to the sentence.

Space moves.

The calm amongst the chaos and the peace amid the war.

The music to the deaf, the beacon on the rocky shores.

The foothold on the downward spiral.

I love you.

Thank You.

Wow! Your writing is so profound! I’ve found moments like that too, where an old memory crops up in a new situation. It doesn’t seem related but somehow they seem to relate when I look at them together. I’ve never thought of it that way, though.

Interesting idea that your wrist was shattered before you fell…..

Thanks Janice! There is no way I could have shattered it that completely at the speed I was moving. And there were some other things too–I just found it hard to believe.

And I am always amazed about the things that end up being related! Thanks for the feedback!
