I have had a bit of a writer’s block for the past few days. Having trouble coming up with topics, not wanting to write, distracting myself by doing other things. I have run the gamut of my excuse-bank.
But this fine morning, I had a small Eureka moment: I am always talking about the amazing things that women are doing, but what about the everyday woman? What about the amazing things SHE is doing!?
Well, here we are!
Being a woman is hard work sometimes! Whether it’s taking care of the kids, taking care of the work, both, or neither, being a woman has its own set of unique challenges!
So many of us have been taught that we have to be Super Woman in order to amount to anything. Believe me, this is no more realistic than thinking we are nothing!
We are EVERYTHING! That’s right, I said it!
Think about the role that women have played over the centuries and millennia of human existence! Correct me if I’m wrong, but never have the men delivered the babies. Yes, they have a part in the process, but the actual perpetuating the species part, ummm, not so much!
And more recently, think of how women have changed the workforce. No other “group” has changed the dynamics of the workplace more drastically than have women!
Or take note of the women who make the homes! Yes, I said it: Women are responsible for making the homes. Any woman who runs a household full time, all the time, will tell you: without her Goddess-ness, it would just be an architectural structure!
So this is for all my every-day courageous women out there! Ladies who are reading this, pat yourself on the back today for doing the best that you can. IT IS GOOD ENOUGH!
And Gents, who are reading this, tell a woman in your life how much you appreciate her. This might mean bringing home an unexpected bouquet of flowers, or making your best effort at dinner tonight, or even taking this special lady for an unexpected night out on the town. However you communicate it, tell the women in your life that they are appreciated today!
