2) When I Grow Up I Want to Be (For HER!)

My sister has suggested more than once that I share some of my poetry with you. So I am finally taking her up on that idea. This week, instead of our regular article, I am going t share a poem with you. Tell me what you think!
In all my awkwardness as a young girl, as a young woman, all I want to do is reach out to girls. I am so passionate about this. I love looking at the glint in their eyes, when I’ve gotten them hooked. That hunger, that longing to be liked, accepted and loved.
When I Grow Up, I Want to Be (For HER)
I want to be a provider of hugs
A wiper awayer of tears. I want to be listening ears that hang on every word, a voice of reason thru the chaos.
A smoother of hair
A reassuring pat on the shoulder
A “hey Momma, you got this-er!”
A seeker
A soother
Once like them
Still like them, all grown up
A phone number giver
A “call me if you need to talk-er”
A lunch taker outer
A, “Charli, what do you think about this-er”
A flash of light
A warm hot fudge sundae
A “Yes, your Voice is important-er”
A “Speak Up-er”
A Renaissance, Amazon Woman, cultivating the self-loving army of the next generations-er
A Love-er
A Quiet Place where you can think-er
A safe place for you to Be-er
A Yes you can do it-er
A speaker
A listener
A observer
A Her!
